Our first class - April 2003
This course is aimed at beginner riders who have obtained their regular driver's license or have completed a driver's education course. A minimum of five hours of classroom instruction prepares you for up to fifteen hours of practical riding in a controlled off-street environment, typically a parking lot that is free of obstacles and traffic. A motorcycle and helmet are available and included in your tuition.
In the classroom you will learn about the different types of motorcycles, their controls, how they are operated and how to become a responsible rider. Your Rider Coach will advise you on what gear to wear for protection and comfort. You'll find out how alcohol and drugs adversely affect your ability to ride safely.
The course concludes with a knowledge test and a riding skills evaluaton. Once your Rider Coach hands you the course completion card, you will be happy knowing that you have gone the extra mile to develop your own safe riding techniques. Tuition for this course is $290.00.
BRC Class Schedule:
Classroom starts Friday at 6:00 pm sharp, and continues until approximately 9:00 pm.
Range exercises start on Saturday at 8:00 am sharp, in the parking lot. We continue in the classroom Saturday afternoon and then back on the motorcycles on Sunday again at 8:00 am sharp.
Split Weekend Course: These courses are designed for those who cannot give up a full weekend and can spread out the course over two weekends. Friday evenings still start at 6:00 pm and conclude around 9:00 pm. You either return on Saturday or Sunday at 8:00 am, for motorcycle riding activity. The next weekend's schedule is basically a repeat of the first weekend.
This course is a continuation of the Basic Rider Course. Riders must have completed a Basic Rider Course to attend. You will spend the entire day practicing your riding skills on the range. Motorcycles are provided; we will provide you with a helmet if you need one. A riding skills evaluation is optional. After passing the skills evaluation, a completion card will be issued. Contact our office for details. Tuition for this course is $ 75.00.
The Experienced Rider Course is designed for riders who are already licensed and ride frequently. Students may repeat the course periodically to keep skills and perceptions about safety fresh. Riders must have their own street-ready motorcycle. All riders must successfully achieve the objectives of Exercise 1 (Control at Low Speed) to continue. The Rider Coach will make this determination. Contact our office for details. Tuition for this course is $100.00.
